Welcome to the EarLy Food Allergens iNTroduction (ELYFANT) study.
Food allergy is common in children. Research has shown that some food allergy can be prevented by introducing foods that can cause allergies to babies early. However, we do not know whether this is being done in the UK and if it is making a difference. We want to find out whether parents are following advice on early introduction of foods that commonly trigger allergic reactions and if this is preventing food allergies later.
This study is led by Prof. Matthew Ridd and Dr. Raquel Granell. Visit the Contacts and Team page to find out more.
This study is part of a larger programme of work funded by the NIHR Research Professorship called Transforming Outcomes for Paediatric allergy In Primary care (TOPIC) which is undertaken by the Centre for Applied Excellence in Skin and Allergy Research (CAESAR).
